Bamberg

Bamberg is a city in the south of Germany. It is located in Franconia in the state of Bavaria. The city has almost 78,000 inhabitants. The river Regnitz flows through Bamberg, divides briefly and then joins again. In doing so, it forms an island, the so-called "Inselstadt", which is part of the city center.
The Bamberg city coat of arms shows St. George as a knight in armor. With his right hand he holds a lance, with a red cross on it. His left hand rests on a blue shield with a silver eagle on it. George was a Christian martyr in ancient times. He is considered the protector of the city of Bamberg.
The old town of Bamberg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many museums in Bamberg. One of them is the Franconian Brewery Museum, where you can learn a lot about beer. The biggest park in Bamberg is the Hain, there you can even swim in the Regnitz in the Hainbad. There is a miniature golf course and a botanical garden.
