Evolution

The word evolution means development. It is about how living things have developed. From simple living things, many more have evolved. The teaching of evolution explains why there are different plants and animals in the world.
For a long time, people did not know how the world and living things came into being. They believed that a god was responsible for it. For example, it is written in the Bible: God created the plants and animals and finally also man.
Especially in the 19th century, there were new ideas about how the many different living things came to be. Around 1900, the idea of evolution became accepted. Most scientists consider it the best possible explanation. Charles Darwin from Great Britain was the first to come up with it.
