Iron Man is a fictional superhero character created by writer Stan Lee, developed by scripter Larry Lieber, and designed by artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. Iron Man first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 in 1963, and has since become one of Marvel Comics' most recognizable and popular characters.

The character of Iron Man is Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who builds a high-tech suit of armor to become a superhero. The suit gives him superhuman strength, the ability to fly, and a range of weapons and gadgets. Tony uses his alter ego of Iron Man to fight crime and protect the world from various threats, both as a solo hero and as a member of the Avengers.

Iron Man has been adapted into various forms of media, including movies, television shows, and video games. The character has appeared in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, The Avengers, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Actor Robert Downey Jr. played the character in these films and helped to make Iron Man one of the most popular superheroes of the modern era.
