Joe Biden

Joe Biden, born Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. on November 20, 1942, is an American politician who became the 46th President of the United States. Hailing from Scranton, Pennsylvania, he began his political career in the early 1970s and eventually gained widespread recognition for his long tenure in public service. Prior to his presidency, Biden held various significant roles, including U.S. Senator from Delaware and Vice President of the United States under President Barack Obama.
Biden's political journey started with his election to the New Castle County Council in 1970, followed by his election to the U.S. Senate in 1972 at the age of 29. Tragically, he faced personal hardship shortly after his election when his wife and daughter were killed in a car accident, and he was sworn into office at his sons' hospital bedside. Biden served in the Senate for nearly four decades, focusing on issues such as foreign policy, crime legislation, and efforts to combat violence against women.
In 2008, Biden was chosen by Barack Obama as his running mate in the presidential election, and they won the election. Biden's eight years as Vice President (2009-2017) saw him playing a key role in areas such as economic recovery, healthcare reform, and foreign policy, including efforts to combat climate change and the Iran nuclear deal.
In 2020, Joe Biden ran for the presidency as the Democratic nominee, emphasizing unity and healing divisions within the country. His campaign focused on managing the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthening healthcare, addressing climate change, promoting racial equality, and restoring international relationships. He won the election against the incumbent President Donald Trump, becoming the oldest person ever elected to the U.S. presidency.
As President, Biden's early actions included rejoining the Paris Agreement on climate change, addressing the pandemic through vaccination distribution and relief packages, and proposing infrastructure and social spending plans. His administration has aimed to implement policies centered on social justice, economic recovery, healthcare expansion, and diplomacy. However, like any political figure, Biden's policies and decisions have sparked various debates and discussions, reflecting the diverse opinions within the American political landscape.
