Lead

lead

Lead is a metal. It belongs to the group of heavy metals and is about eleven times heavier than the same amount of water. Lead looks bluish-white. If you stroke a piece of lead across a piece of paper, you get a grey line.

Lead is softer than iron. It was discovered by people long before iron. Lead is very easy to shape into the desired form. That is why it was very popular with people for vessels and water pipes.
