MiyaGi

Asamat Kudzayev was born in Vladikavkaz in 1990. He chose his pseudonym MiyaGi after Mr. Miyagi, who trains the protagonist in the film Karate Kid. His father Kazbek Kudzayev is a well-known surgeon, head of the Centre for Orthopaedics and Aesthetic Surgery in North Ossetia. At the age of seven, Asamat Kudzayev fell under a tram and was seriously injured; his father operated on him. Like his father, Asamat went on to study medicine. While at school, he started listening to American rap and took a liking to the genre. He also started writing his own lyrics. In 2011, he recorded his first track and performed his first solo concert in 2015.

On 8 May 2016, he and Endspiel released their first album together, "Hajime Pt. 1". Shortly after on 20 September 2016, the next part "Hajime Pt. 2" followed. In 2017, a joint album with Endspiel was released under the title Umschakalaka (умшакалака), which was a collaboration with the singer Amigo.

MiyaGi has an older brother and lives with Ilona Tuskayeva in Saint Petersburg. In 2017, his one-and-a-half-year-old son died after falling from a window on the ninth floor.
