The Modern Era

The modern era is the latest period in history and follows the Middle Ages. It is one of the three great epochs in the history of mankind and begins around the year 1500. Those who particularly value the culture of the Renaissance from Italy prefer to see the beginning of the modern era a little earlier. Those who think primarily of science say that the modern era began more around 1600.
Although the modern era did not last as long as antiquity or the Middle Ages, there were a particularly large number of discoveries and inventions. Many things happened that are still significant for the world today. We, too, live in the modern era.
