Pippi Longstocking

Pippi Longstocking is a character from the books of Astrid Lindgren. Astrid Lindgren was a Swedish writer. She died in 2002 and is one of the most famous writers of children's books in the world. Her books have been translated into more than 50 languages. In Germany alone, 20 million of her books have been sold.
Astrid Lindgren came up with the stories about Pippi Longstocking when her daughter was ill. A few years later she wrote down the stories and in 1945 the first book was published.
