The second, minute and hour are units in which time is measured. The heartbeat of an adult lasts about one second. 60 seconds make a minute, 60 minutes in turn make an hour and 24 hours make a whole day, a year in turn has 365 or 366 days. The second is the most important unit of time in the international system of units. This means that all other units of time are derived from it.
