Star Wars

Star Wars is the name of a series of feature films. The adventure stories are set in space and describe the fight against evil, the "Empire". "Star Wars" comes from English and means "War of the Stars". This is also the German title of the first film, which was released in 1977.

In the meantime there have been several more films. Around 1980, two sequels followed. Around the year 2000, there were three more films that told the prequel story. There have also been several television series made about Star Wars. George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, eventually sold it to the Walt Disney company.

The stories of "Star Trek" have a similar name. This is also successful science fiction. It has become known more through television and is more about science than Star Wars.
