Taliban

The Taliban rule over large parts of Afghanistan. Today, they are considered a terrorist group. Originally, they were Afghan refugees who turned to a particular interpretation of Islam and mixed this doctrine with ancient tribal laws. They were first heard of in 1994, when they shelled the Afghan city of Kandahar.
In the years from 1996 to 2001, the Taliban were in power in Afghanistan. They were very cruel. People who did not think and wanted to live in such a strict religious way were persecuted and killed by the Taliban. Only the men had value, women and girls were often treated almost like a commodity.
Then the troops of the USA and their allies marched into Afghanistan and defeated the Taliban. But they continued to exist. During this time, they turned out to be terrorists all the more, killing many Afghans and foreign soldiers. In 2021, most of the foreign soldiers left the country. Within a few days, the Taliban then took power again.
